Nova Silva is an enterprise data company founded in 2007 in the Netherlands. We combine purpose-built software with practical consulting and hands-on training, helping organizations strengthen data management, reference data, and reporting foundations across Azure-based data platforms.
Who we are
Nova Silva was founded in 2007 by a group of professionals with backgrounds in management and IT at organizations such as Kappa Packaging, Temtec, IBM, Accenture, and Rabobank. From the start, our focus has been the same: helping organizations turn data into something they can rely on.
Today we are a multidisciplinary team of architects, developers, consultants, and trainers — small enough to stay close to every customer, experienced enough to support the largest enterprise platforms.
The name Nova Silva means "new forest" in Latin. Like a forest, a healthy data environment grows over time when the right structures are in place. Our role is to help our customers create those structures and keep them sustainable.
One approach, three strengths
Nova Silva works from a single, coherent approach to data management, built on three complementary strengths: software, consulting, and training. The same standards, the same people, applied wherever they help most.
Our software provides the technical foundation — from reference data to Power BI reporting, particularly in Azure-based platforms. Our consulting helps organizations apply that foundation in practice, designing governance structures, improving data management processes, and aligning technology with organizational needs. Our training focuses on people and adoption, giving teams the shared understanding they need to work with data effectively and responsibly.
Together, these three strengths ensure that data solutions are not only implemented, but also understood, adopted, and trusted across the organization.

Our software and consulting practice are deeply aligned with the Microsoft data stack. Codex Catalog is delivered as a Managed Application on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, deployed entirely inside the customer's own Azure environment. Our Power BI Visuals are part of the Microsoft AppSource catalogue and trusted by reporting teams worldwide.
Long-standing collaboration with Microsoft, and direct feedback from the data and platform teams we work with, shape both our software and our methods.

A new forest, in more ways than one
Nova Silva means new forest. We extend that idea beyond our name. For every day we work for a client, we purchase a tree certificate through the International Tree Fund (ITF) — a Dutch volunteer organization dedicated to preserving and restoring forests and supporting the people who live in and around them. Each certificate equates to one tree planted in the Carara Corridor in Costa Rica.
